Do I need to report crypto on taxes if you don't sell?
Whenever crypto is sold (swapped or exchanged), it creates a taxable event. It only matters that the crypto was disposed of. It doesn't matter what it was traded for. Crypto-to-crypto transactions generate taxable events. If crypto is not sold or disposed of, then there is nothing to be taxed or reported.
